Research into Title Sequences

Research into Title Sequences

Hi again! This is my presentation of title sequences in films where I researched the typical order of title sequences and what makes a good title sequence.

I will be making a questionnaire about what people think makes a good opening sequence and an opening sequence that they thought was amazing and why.

I hope you enjoy and please leave me some feedback!

  2. For some reason, Slideshare is blocked on Eastcoast wifi (all those subversive anti-train presentations I suspect). I'll take a look at your presentation tomorrow, although I do like your idea of doing a questionnaire/ survey; I've not seen anyone do one of those before and it will be interesting to see what kind of responses you get. A key thing to remember now are points about the order (and nature) of the credits; when you are planning out your sequence you should build these in from the outset - it should not be a last-minute thing (this often happens). In particular, you might want to consider how you are going to create foreshadowing and symbolism, since these can be quite significant. Once you've selected your genre, you should take a look to consider how these elements function typically within films of that genre. You might want to add a question into your survey about genre, since this might help with consideration of audience when it comes to the evaluation.

  3. Some good points, although it would be useful to know where you got your information from. Worth comparing the examples you choose for your analyses with the conventions you have identified - do they adhere to this, or are there differences?
